Registered Psychologists

safe, private and with wholehearted care

Conscious Psychology is a modern and distinctive psychology practice founded by Counselling Psychologist, Sanam Naran.

Conscious Psychology was born out of a need to provide clients with an inclusive, culturally-sensitive, safe, private and holistic therapeutic space. Sanam noticed a lack of psychology practices within South Africa that placed emphasis on inclusivity, cultural-sensitivity and understanding the diversity of clients, which is what sets Conscious Psychology apart.

The mission behind Conscious Psychology is to provide professional and reputable therapeutic services to diverse groups of people, whilst possessing an understanding of the intricacies each client may face and ensuring that their journey at this practice feels comfortable, transformative and challenging.

Conscious Psychology has created a multi-disciplinary team by carefully and intentionally selecting highly-skilled psychologists from various backgrounds’ that may share similar lived realities and experiences to our clients. As a person of colour, Sanam understands the stigma that is still attached to mental health, and thus, strives to create a space that is accepting, warm and prejudice-free.

We also understand that the work of a psychologist can be demanding and emotionally-fatiguing, which is why our focus is also on providing a prosperous and family-orientated environment for our psychologists, with a specific emphasis on self-care. Our psychologists have all trained in various psychotherapeutic modalities and receive monthly supervision by the founder, aside from sharing a friendship through their Masters and internship training.
