About Me
Therapy is all about relationships, feelings, and talking, and these are topics that have always fascinated me. Self-expression and acceptance of my own emotions did not always come easy but from a young age I found myself drawn to books, movies, songs, and people that expressed emotions in all their complexity, in the ways that I couldn’t at that stage.
This curiosity led me on important personal journeys, most significantly to pursuing and achieving my masters in community-based Counselling Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand. This is where I honed my interests and skills in helping people lead their best lives, while always taking into account the effects of their wider contexts.
I use an integrative approach in therapy – meaning I draw from a variety of modalities and approaches to fit the unique needs of each client. My favourites include cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy, and solution focused therapy.
I aim to provide a warm and judgement-free space for my clients to express and explore anything that troubles them, with a unique blend of expertise and approachability. I prioritise a calm atmosphere while also ensuring sessions are engaging and dynamic, utilising creative tools and techniques when fitting. This allows for clients to find their own inate tools to combat challenges and improve circumstances.
